France forward of Senegalese descent, Ousmane Dembele, has been named Man of the Match after a top performance against Tottenham Hotspur in the 2025 UEFA Super Cup.

The encounter began brightly for Spurs, who struck first in the 39th minute when Micky van de Ven reacted quickest to a loose ball in the box, calmly slotting home from close range. Just three minutes into the second half, Cristian Romero doubled their lead with a stunning long-range header into the top corner, leaving PSG momentarily stunned.

PSG refused to surrender, and their persistence paid off in the 85th minute when Kang-In Lee unleashed a brilliant strike from the edge of the box, beating the goalkeeper at the far post.

The French champions then drew level deep into stoppage time, as Gonçalo Ramos met a perfectly weighted cross with a precise header into the left corner, sparking wild celebrations.

Ousmane Dembele assisted that goal.

With the game ending 2-2 after regulation time, penalties were required to decide the winner. Dembélé’s vision, relentless drive, and creative flair had been a constant threat throughout the match, and his influence carried over into the shootout. PSG held their nerve to win 4-3 on spot-kicks, sealing the trophy.

Dembélé’s tireless display earned him the Man of the Match award, capping off a memorable night for both the player and his team.
