Ivorian international Sebastien Haller is set to stay at Borussia Dortmund for the 2025/26 football season.

Following his loan spell at FC Utrecht, the 31-year-old is reportedly being given a fresh opportunity under new head coach Niko Kovac.

With Dortmund reshaping their transfer priorities, Haller may become one of the early beneficiaries of the club’s new direction.

According to BILD, Dortmund have scrapped plans to sign another striker to serve as backup for new signing Serhou Guirassy.

Instead, the club is now targeting reinforcements in the form of a winger and a central midfielder.

This will effectively give Sebastien Haller a renewed role in the squad for the upcoming football season.

The Ivorian international is expected to compete for minutes behind Guirassy during the pre-season, and this window could prove pivotal in reviving his career at the Bundesliga side.

Given his high wages, a transfer away from Dortmund remains unlikely, making his reintegration all the more strategic for the club.

Haller will need to work hard and take his chances when he is allowed to play in upcoming matches.
