Premier League outfit Everton are pushing for the acquisition of Belgium international of Guinean descent Malick Fofana in the ongoing transfer window.
The 20-year-old youngster, who plies his trade in France has attracted significant interest in Europe, with Everton and Liverpool believed to be interested in the attacker.
Meanwhile, the forward is also said to be on the radar of Fulham, Nottingham Forest, RB Leipzig, Napoli and Bayern Munich.
The Toffees are now looking to snap Fofana up for £31 million. However, Lyon appears not to be satisfied with the price, holding out for at least £36 million. Negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing.
Fofana joined Lyon from Gant in a €17m move eighteen months ago and his value has skyrocketed since following a swift impact at the club.
The in-demand winger racked up 15 goals and provided 7 assists in 62 games played for Les Gones. Fofana could sign for Nuno Espirito Santo’s team as he aimed to join a club that will compete in the Champions League.
The winger’s current contract with the Ligue 2 outfit runs until summer 2026.
