Aliou Baldé will continue his career in Switzerland after OGC Nice confirmed his loan move to FC St. Gallen for the 2025–2026 season, with an option to buy included in the deal.

The 22-year-old Guinean winger returns to the Swiss Super League following a promising loan spell with Lausanne during the second half of last season.

Baldé impressed during his brief time in the league, prompting interest from multiple clubs. St. Gallen have now secured his services in a move aimed at helping him rediscover the form that once marked him as a rising talent.

Baldé joined OGC Nice in the summer of 2023 in a €2.5 million transfer from Dutch side Feyenoord.

Despite the initial excitement surrounding his arrival on the French Riviera, he struggled to make an impact at the Ligue 1 club, registering just nine appearances without a single goal or assist.

His lack of playing time and influence led the club to explore options that would ensure his continued development.

A loan move was seen as the most viable path, and Baldé’s previous familiarity with the Swiss top flight made St. Gallen an attractive destination.

Known for their attacking style and focus on youth, the club is expected to offer Baldé the playing minutes and tactical freedom he needs to progress.

Still early in his career, Baldé will be hoping this move reignites the momentum that saw him emerge as a talent at Feyenoord before seeking greater challenges abroad.

Now at a critical point in his development, the 2025–2026 campaign represents a vital opportunity to showcase his potential in a competitive setting.

The winger’s pace and dribbling ability are key assets, but he will need to add end product to his game if he is to convince both St. Gallen and his parent club of his long-term value.

With the option to make the transfer permanent, the upcoming season could define the next chapter of his career.

OGC Nice, meanwhile, will closely monitor his progress, hoping that a consistent run of form in Switzerland can either strengthen their squad options for the future or open the door for a profitable permanent transfer.
