Olympique Marseille have reached a preliminary agreement with Juventus for the loan acquisition of American-Liberian attacker Timothy Weah this summer.

Weah, a Ligue 1 winner with Paris Saint-Germain and Lille OSC is joining the French Ligue 1 giants on a season-long loan with a mandatory purchase option included in the deal.

Following an agreement with both parties, the 25-year-old winger is expected to finalize his switch to the Ligue 1 outfit in the coming days.

Despite interest from other clubs, Weah prioritize a return to France, where he previously had spells with PSG and Lille.

Marseille have agreed a fee with the Turin outfit between €12m-€15m for the permanent signing of the winger. However, Weah will pen a five-year deal with the club after the completion of his loan.

The former Lille star will travel to the South of France to complete a medical ahead of being officially unveiled as a Les Olympiens player.

Weah is expected to fill the void left by Luis Henrique following his move to Italian giants Internazionale Milan. Known for his versatility, the 25-year-old is expected to solidify Marseille’s squad for the upcoming 2025/26 football campaign.

The winger has made 44 appearances for the USA national team since making his debut in 2018, racking seven goals across the period.
