Ahmed Abdel Kader’s expected transfer to Saudi Arabian side Al-Hazem has hit an unexpected delay, with the winger’s move now hanging on the outcome of his medical tests.
Al Ahly had earlier greenlit Al-Hazem’s offer to sign the talented winger on a permanent deal, bringing the negotiations close to a conclusion. A club source revealed to Kooora that Abdel Kader himself has accepted the offer and was all set to travel to Saudi Arabia within hours to finalize the deal.
“Abdel Kader has also accepted the offer and is scheduled to leave for Saudi Arabia within hours to undergo a medical and officially sign the contract,” the source confirmed.
However, the transfer remains unofficial, with Al Ahly reluctant to make a public announcement until the player has completed his medical and penned his new contract.
“Al-Ahly officials don’t want to discuss the matter until Abdelkader signs with Al-Hazem, as they had previously agreed with Ceramica Cleopatra to sell the player permanently, before backing out at the last minute,” the source added.
The club is also unconcerned about a potential move to rivals Zamalek.
