Cameroon national team assistant coach Ashu Cyprian Besong has confirmed that forward Bryan Mbeumo is eager to make a move to Manchester United, as transfer negotiations between the Premier League giants and Brentford continue to stall.

The 25-year-old winger, currently on Brentford’s books, has emerged as one of United’s key summer targets, but progress has been slow due to disagreements over the transfer fee.

Manchester United have reportedly seen offers of £55 million and £60 million turned down, with Brentford now valuing the player at £68 million.

Besong, speaking to Telecom Asia, shed light on Mbeumo’s mindset as the saga drags on.

“Yes, obviously he’s very frustrated with how long it’s taken. But he’s a professional and anticipates these things,” he said.

“I spoke to him about a week ago and he is very calm with everything that is going on. But of course, he’s already told them he wants to go to United.”

The Cameroon international, who has become a central figure at Brentford since joining the club in 2019, is said to remain respectful of his current employers despite pushing for the move.

“He just wanted the two clubs to find an agreement, as he’s very grateful for the opportunity that he’s been given by Brentford in his career,” Besong added.
