Yaya Touré “90% Certain” to Leave Manchester City, Says Agent
Yaya Touré’s future at Manchester City appears increasingly uncertain, with his agent revealing that the Ivorian midfielder is “90% certain” to leave the club this summer.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Dimitri Seluk, Touré’s long-time representative, confirmed the growing likelihood of his client’s departure after five seasons at the Etihad Stadium. “It’s almost decided,” he said, adding that a final announcement could follow soon.
Touré, who joined City from Barcelona in 2010, has been a pivotal figure in the club’s modern success, helping deliver two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, and a League Cup. However, his recent form has come under scrutiny, with critics pointing to a dip in performances this season under manager Manuel Pellegrini.
Despite his subdued campaign, the 32-year-old remains highly sought after. Inter Milan, now coached by former City boss Roberto Mancini, have openly expressed their interest in bringing the Ivorian to Serie A. Mancini, who signed Touré during his time in Manchester, is reportedly eager to reunite with him to lead Inter’s midfield rebuild.
Touré has remained publicly non-committal about his plans, sidestepping direct questions about his future in recent months. However, Seluk’s statement all but confirms that the midfielder is preparing for a new chapter in his career.
“He has done everything for City. He needs a new challenge,” Seluk told Sky Sports.
If the departure is confirmed, it will mark the end of an era at Manchester City. Touré’s arrival in 2010 signalled the start of the club’s rise to domestic dominance, and his departure may now symbolise the beginning of another transition at the Etihad.
