Jayden Addai has officially completed his transfer from AZ Alkmaar to Como, signing a contract with the Italian club that will run until June 2030.
The 19-year-old Dutch forward becomes the latest addition to Como 1907’s summer recruitment drive, which has seen the club place a clear emphasis on promising young talent.
Having come through the ranks at AZ Alkmaar’s acclaimed academy, Addai has impressed at both youth and senior levels, establishing himself as one of the most exciting prospects in Dutch football.
Addai enjoyed a prolific spell with Jong AZ in the Eerste Divisie, scoring 15 goals last season while delivering consistent performances that caught the attention of scouts across Europe.
His experience also extends to top-tier football in the Eredivisie and success on the continental stage, having been part of the AZ squad that lifted the UEFA Youth League title—Europe’s elite youth club competition.
Head coach Cesc Fàbregas, who is overseeing Como’s preparations ahead of the new campaign, spoke with enthusiasm about Addai’s arrival and the qualities he brings to the squad.
“Jayden is direct, technical, and courageous,” Fàbregas said. “He’s already proven he can perform at a high level, and we believe this is the perfect environment for him to continue his development. We’re excited to welcome him into the group.”
The former Spain international has made no secret of his desire to build a dynamic, attacking team centred around hungry, technically gifted players—and Addai appears to fit that vision perfectly.
The young winger expressed similar excitement about his move, describing the opportunity as a significant step forward in his career.
“I’m very happy to be here and to join a club as ambitious as Como 1907,” Addai said following the announcement.
“The project the club is building really impressed me, and I want to help achieve great things here.
This is my first experience outside the Netherlands, but I’ve settled in quickly. I feel confident and determined.”
Addai also spoke fondly of his impressions of the city and the region, revealing that Como had left a strong impression on him even before his transfer.
“I visited the lake last year and found it absolutely stunning,” he added. “The climate is wonderful, the food is amazing, and it’s a place where you feel truly at ease. Everything here makes me want to give my best.”
His arrival represents a clear statement of intent from Como as they prepare for the new season.
The club’s long-term investment in Addai signals not only belief in his talent but also their broader commitment to building a side with both immediate impact and future potential.
Addai is expected to join up with the squad for pre-season training in the coming days, as preparations intensify under Fàbregas’ leadership.
