The Equatorial Guinea national team will bid farewell to their eager fans on January 9, 2023, at the Malabo national park ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
The ceremony promises to be a wild celebration, featuring outstanding national flag artists.
The highlight of the event will be the participation of Vice President Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangué, who will symbolically hand over the national flag to the Nzalang Nacional captain, Emilio Nsue López.
This symbolic act emphasizes unity and determination as the team prepares to represent the nation proudly in the upcoming AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast.
Key figures from the Malabo Executive, including the Head of Defence and Security and the Ministry of Culture and Craft Promotion, will join the festivities, adding prestige to the occasion.
Following the farewell, the Equatorial Guinea Football Federation plans to depart for Abidjan on January 10, setting the stage for Nzalang Nacional’s participation in Group A alongside the hosts Ivory Coast, Nigeria, and Guinea Bissau.
The team’s first match against Nigeria is scheduled for January 14 at the Stade Alassane Ouattara in Ebimpe —a thrilling start to their AFCON journey.
