Yannick Ferrera set to land in Cairo to begin Zamalek era
Belgian coach Yannick Ferrera is on his way to Cairo to officially begin his journey with Zamalek SC as the club’s new head coach.
After weeks of talks, the club’s board, led by Hussein Labib, has finalized an agreement for Ferrera to take over from interim boss Ayman El-Ramady, who guided the team to Egypt Cup glory in his brief stint.
According to Kooora, “Yannick Ferrera has agreed with Zamalek officials to arrive in Cairo tomorrow, Wednesday, accompanied by four foreign assistants.”
The new chapter is already taking shape behind the scenes. “Zamalek officials held a Zoom meeting with Yannick Ferrera, during which they agreed on financial matters and contract terms, but the signing has not yet taken place officially,” the source added.
Ferrera is expected to bring fresh energy and structure to the team. “There is a comprehensive plan in place in coordination with Yannick Ferrera, and the team is scheduled to enter a closed training camp in the coming days,” the source confirmed.
Zamalek fans now wait eagerly for the official unveiling.
