De Zerbi identifies Amine Gouiri in Tottenham’s January recruitment plans

Tottenham are considering a move for Marseille forward Amine Gouiri as they prepare to reshape their attacking options during the winter transfer window.

The Algeria international has previously attracted interest from the London club, and his situation is being monitored closely by the Spurs hierarchy. Gouiri’s name has again emerged prominently in Tottenham’s recruitment plans as they assess potential additions for January.

Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi is understood to be a strong admirer of the Marseille player’s technical ability and versatility. He believes Gouiri could provide valuable support in the Premier League by giving the team greater fluidity and more variety in attack.

However, any major move in the middle of the season is likely to depend on Tottenham first reducing the size of their squad and freeing up funds from the wage bill. Should departures take place in the coming weeks, the north London club could make a formal approach for Gouiri.

The remaining question is whether Tottenham’s sustained interest will persuade Marseille to part with their leading attacker during the January transfer window.
