German-Nigerian forward Justin Njinmah fired up for Bundesliga return with new Werder Bremen coach
Justin Njinmah is eager for a fresh start under new SV Werder Bremen head coach Horst Steffen.
The 24-year-old German-Nigerian forward had been weighing up a move away from the club but now looks set to stay and fight for his place in the upcoming season.
The change in leadership has shifted Njinmah’s focus. Club official Peter Niemeyer believes the striker can thrive under Steffen. “A change of coach always offers new opportunities for the players,” said Niemeyer.
“Of course, Justin can benefit from that too. He sees this opportunity for himself. But of course, he himself bears the primary responsibility. He has to be physically stable and offer himself.”
With pre-season underway, Njinmah has the chance to prove his value. He’s being given the confidence of the new boss, and the club is hopeful. “Horst has signaled that he is very keen to work with Justin and help him progress,” Niemeyer added.
“Justin has all the prerequisites to take the next steps in the Bundesliga. We are happy to have him with us.”
