Victor Boniface is leaving no stone unturned as he eyes a big return at Bayer Leverkusen under new manager Erik ten Hag.
After an inconsistent previous campaign, the 24-year-old Nigerian striker is now grinding through a tough training schedule in Marbella, Spain, sharpening his fitness, technical skills, and tactical understanding.
According to Bild, Boniface aims to be in peak condition ahead of pre-season, where ten Hag plans to test him in a flexible attacking setup alongside Patrik Schick. The system could see Boniface operating in a deeper role, using his power and movement to break into space behind the main striker.
There’s still interest from Premier League clubs, especially Newcastle United, but Boniface appears fully committed to Leverkusen for now. The German side reportedly values him at around €50 million.
Boniface is targeting the Brazilian training camp on July 14 as his key opportunity to impress the new coach. Ten Hag wants to assess the forward personally before making a final decision on his role and future at the club.
