President of the Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, reached out to Wydad coach Mohamed Amine Benhachem and team doctor Abdelrazak Hefti to inquire about their health following a serious car accident in Washington.
The accident occurred earlier this week while the duo were on official duty during the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
After speaking with them, Lekjaa reassured both Benhachem and Hefti of the federation’s full support, extending it to the entire Wydad delegation as they cope with this difficult situation.
Benhachem informed Lekjaa that his condition has improved after spending a day under medical observation at a clinic in Washington to ensure his well-being.
The incident has deeply unsettled the Wydad team, who are now facing their upcoming match against Al Ain next Thursday with heavy hearts as they prepare to conclude their U.S. tour.
Meanwhile, Wydad Casablanca failed to progress from the group phase of the tournament.
