Barcelona set to seal smart deal for Nico Williams in cut-price transfer
Barcelona are edging closer to signing Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao in what is now seen as a smart piece of business by the Catalan giants.
The club has agreed personal terms with the Spanish-Ghanaian winger and are ready to trigger his release clause, paving the way for one of La Liga’s most exciting talents to join Hansi Flick’s squad this summer.
Despite competition from Bayern Munich, who are still in the race according to reports, Barcelona appear to have moved ahead in the chase.
Respected journalist Laura Aparicio highlighted the value of the deal, saying, “The release clause that Barcelona will have to face presents a great opportunity, considering the significant investments that European clubs have made to secure the services of a winger. (It is very cheap).”
Williams, a star for both Spain and Athletic Club, has impressed with his pace, creativity, and big-game performances. Having lifted silverware for both club and country, he arrives with pedigree and promise.
At just 22, his move to Camp Nou could be one of the bargains of the summer.
