The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has firmly denied any investigations into the recent transfer of Ahmed Mostafa Zizo, calling reports of scrutiny over his contract baseless and misleading.
Speaking on national television, EFA board member Hamada El Sherbini clarified that no supervisory body is examining the association regarding Zizo’s move to Al Ahly. “What’s circulating is not true,” he stated.
While refusing to disclose the official value of Zizo’s contract, El Sherbini hinted that the actual figure is higher than what the media has reported, some outlets claiming it is worth only five million Egyptian pounds.
El Sherbini stressed that the EFA has no role in negotiating player contracts, only registering the agreed terms between clubs and players. “We do not interfere in the financial agreements. Taxes are the responsibility of the clubs,” he said.
Zizo’s switch to Al Ahly earlier this month, following the expiration of his deal with rivals Zamalek, has sparked intense media buzz. He debuted for Al Ahly during the Club World Cup, currently underway in the United States.
