Morocco reaffirms readiness to host 2025 AFCON with nine stadiums

President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, has reiterated the country’s full commitment to delivering all nine stadiums designated for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

In recent press comments, Lekjaa stated that stadiums in Marrakech, Agadir, Casablanca, and Fez are already complete.

He added that ongoing construction and renovation works in Rabat and at the Grand Stade de Tangier are progressing well and will be finalized by August or September 2025.

Lekjaa, who also heads the Organizing Committee for the tournament, emphasized that Morocco will be the first country to host AFCON with nine fully equipped stadiums.

He also noted the preparation of 24 hotels and 24 training grounds, ensuring that each of the 24 participating teams will have its own exclusive accommodation and training facility—an unprecedented move in the history of the competition.

This level of preparation underscores Morocco’s ambition to deliver a world-class and historic edition of the continental championship.

The 35th AFCON tournament is set to take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
