Saudi giants Al-Ittihad are pushing to reunite World Cup-winning French duo Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante, but a change in leadership is delaying progress.
According to French outlet Foot Mercato, Pogba has received initial interest from the club but no official offer has been made yet.
The hesitation comes as Al-Ittihad undergoes an internal shake-up following the resignation of club president Louay Mashabi. A new appointment is still pending.
The club’s ambition to pair Pogba with midfield engine Kante reflects its desire to build a high-profile squad.
“The lack of official contact with Pogba is due to Al-Ittihad undergoing administrative changes and awaiting a new president,” Foot Mercato noted.
Meanwhile, AS Monaco has been actively negotiating with Pogba, and Olympique Marseille previously showed interest as well.
Santi Aouna, a trusted journalist, confirmed Al-Ittihad is closely watching Pogba’s status.
Pogba, whose ban was reduced to 18 months in March, remains clubless after ending his contract with Juventus. The midfielder hasn’t played competitively since September 2023 but continues solo training as he plots a return.
