Algerian stars set to shine at 2025 Club World Cup in the United States

Algerian talent will take centre stage at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which kicks off in the United States from 15 June to 13 July.

With the tournament expanding to 32 teams for the first time, several Algerian internationals are poised to make a mark in one of football’s most anticipated global events.

Freshly signed by Manchester City, Rayan Aït-Nouri enters the competition with significant attention on him.

The former Wolverhampton Wanderers left-back joins Pep Guardiola’s star-studded squad just days before the tournament.

With City drawn in Group G alongside Juventus, Wydad Casablanca, and Al Ain FC, Aït-Nouri will be tested against top-tier opposition early on.

For the 23-year-old, this is not only a chance to secure his place in Guardiola’s plans but also an opportunity to showcase his quality on a world stage.

Borussia Dortmund’s campaign will feature a strong Algerian presence as well.

Veteran full-back Ramy Bensebaïni, a mainstay in the national team, is expected to anchor the defence in a competitive Group F, which includes Brazilian side Fluminense, South Korea’s Ulsan Hyundai, and South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Alongside him is Elias Benkara, a young central defender on the rise.

Though yet to declare his international allegiance, Benkara will use this global platform to further his development and perhaps edge closer to a decision about representing Algeria.

Espérance de Tunis will carry North African hopes into the tournament with two familiar Algerian faces.

Youcef Belaili, known for his flair and experience in high-pressure fixtures, will lead the attack, while Mohamed Amine Tougaï provides defensive stability.

The Tunisian giants face a challenging Group D draw, lining up against Chelsea, Flamengo, and LA Galaxy.

For Belaili, the Club World Cup adds another prestigious stage to a career already filled with big moments.

Tougaï, meanwhile, continues to solidify his reputation as a dependable presence at the heart of the defence.

With Algerian players spread across clubs in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, this summer’s Club World Cup offers supporters of the Fennecs a unique chance to see their stars compete at the highest level.

As the tournament unfolds, the spotlight will firmly be on Algeria’s representatives as they aim to inspire and deliver on football’s global stage.
