Algerian international Rayan Ait-Nouri has opened up about his desire to follow in the footsteps of compatriot Riyad Mahrez at his new club, Manchester City.
Ait-Nouri signed for Man City on Monday, June 9, becoming the latest Algerian on the books of the English Premier League giants.
Speaking in his first interview, the forward disclosed that he has already spoken to Riyad Mahrez and taken some advice from him.
Ait-Nouri further assured that he is determined to follow in the footsteps of Mahrez by giving his all to the club and winning as many titles as possible.
“Yeah, I spoke with Riyad – I am with him in the national team, and it was the same as Matheus [Nunes, a former team-mate at Wolves].
“Riyad told me about the city, and he told me to give everything for this club – one of the biggest clubs in the world – and I will try to follow him,” Rayan Ait-Nouri said as quoted on the Manchester City website.
Ait-Nouri has established a reputation as one of the most exciting full-backs in the Premier League over the past five years with his productivity in the final third and ability to thwart opposition attacks.
He is now set to take his career to the next level and will have a big role to play in Pep Guardiola’s team.
