Manchester City are now in advanced talks to sign France-born forward of Algerian descent Rayan Cherki.
The English Premier League side commenced talks to secure the services of the highly-rated youngster early this week and is making progress.
Pep Guardiola’s side is keen on signing Cherki from Olympique Lyon as part of efforts to strengthen their squad for the 2025/26 football season and beyond.
The 21-year-old sensation has been one of the standout players for Lyon in the last couple of seasons.
In the 2024/25 football season, he scored 12 goals and provided 20 assists in all competitions, establishing himself as one of the highly-rated youngsters in Europe.
Before the end of the season, he confirmed that he will be leaving Olympique Lyon in the summer in search of a new challenge.
Manchester City are now in advanced talks to sign the player and could seal the deal in the early part of June.
Meanwhile, Cherki is also a transfer target of Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur.
