English Premier League side Brentford have announced the permanent signing of Italian defender of Nigerian descent, Michael Kayode.
The club confirmed the signing in an official statement on Wednesday, May 28.
“Michael Kayode has signed a five-year deal with Brentford, with the club having an option to extend his contract by an additional 12 months,” Brentford announced on its website.
Michael Kayode has been signed permanently after impressing during his loan spell from Fiorentina in the January window.
After an exciting first six months in west London, the 20-year-old has now extended his stay at the club until at least 2030.
Speaking after signing his permanent deal, Michael Kayode shared his delight and stressed that he cannot wait for more action next season.
“I am so excited to extend my stay at Brentford. I have felt so welcome from the first day I arrived at the club, thanks to my team-mates and the care the coaching staff have shown me.
“I’ve wanted to play in the Premier League since I was a child and it’s been so good to do that here. “I can’t wait for more next season and beyond,” he said.
