Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso is eyeing a strong finish to the South African Premier League campaign despite winning the trophy with games at hand.
Sundowns delivered their eighth consecutive league title in mid-week with a commanding 3-0 victory over Chippa United.
While focusing on the Champions League final against Pyramids, Cardoso insists his outfit will not underestimate any opponent in the South African top-flight.
“We must respect Magesi’s resurgence under Owen Da Gama,” cautioned Cardoso, referencing the Limpopo side’s five-match unbeaten run that includes four consecutive wins.
“While we’ll start Pyramids preparations now, Sunday’s match remains crucial. We want to reward our fans with a strong finish.” With the Club World Cup also on the horizon, Sundowns’ backroom staff are already laying groundwork for their packed schedule, though Cardoso remains unfazed: “The Club World Cup can wait – Pyramids demand our immediate attention.”
As Sundowns chase a potential second Champions League crown after dethroning Al Ahly, their ability to balance domestic commitments with continental ambitions will define this historic season.
