Al Ahly have taken a major step in securing their defensive future after reaching a preliminary deal to extend the contract of long-time center-back Ramy Rabia.
The agreement comes as the club pushes to maintain stability within its squad during the current Egyptian league campaign.
A source confirmed to Kooora that Rabia recently met with Al Ahly’s sporting director, Mohamed Youssef, to iron out the terms of a new contract. The talks ended positively, with both sides agreeing on a two-year extension. The deal also includes an option for a third year, subject to mutual consent.
“Rabia agreed to renew his contract with Al Ahly for two years, with a third year to be activated with the agreement of both parties in a move that reflects his commitment to continue with the Red Castle.”
The official signing is expected to take place after Al Ahly’s upcoming clash with Al-Masry Al-Borsaiedi on Thursday. Rabia will finalize the deal once details regarding his advertising commitments are settled.
