Axel Tape is on the verge of a major move, with Bayer Leverkusen lining up the talented 17-year-old centre-back for a summer switch from PSG.
The German club sees strong long-term promise in the young defender and is pushing to secure his signature as a free agent, according to Sky Sport’s Florian Plettenberg.
Leverkusen has already made contact with both Tape and his representatives, with talks described as positive. Despite interest from several Premier League clubs, the PSG academy graduate is leaning toward joining the Bundesliga side.
Tape has spent his youth career rising through the ranks at Paris Saint-Germain. A regular standout in the under-19 squad, he impressed in both domestic competition and the UEFA Youth League. His progress earned him a first-team call-up from Luis Enrique in November 2024 during a defensive injury crisis.
He made his senior debut for PSG on January 15, 2025, starting in a Coupe de France match against fifth-tier Espaly. Tape played 72 minutes as PSG claimed a 4–2 win.
The move to Leverkusen marks a key step for one of France’s brightest defensive prospects.
