Barcelona forward Ansu Fati’s agent Jorge Mendes has denied rumours of a fallout between the player and head coach Hansi Flick, amid growing speculation about the winger’s future at the club.
Fati, who was born in Bissau, has endured a frustrating campaign under Flick, making only ten appearances without scoring or assisting in any competition this season.
The 22-year-old’s limited involvement has fuelled talk of unrest within the squad, particularly among players who feel sidelined.
Following Barcelona’s dramatic 4–3 win over Celta Vigo, Flick acknowledged the discontent in the dressing room.
“I can understand that the players aren’t happy and are dissatisfied,” the German tactician admitted. “I was a professional player and I understand them. Everyone wants to show they can contribute and be part of the team. I understand that, but I don’t understand the reaction.”
Flick’s comments appeared to confirm reports of internal tension, with Fati named among the players allegedly discontent with their role.
However, Mendes was quick to downplay any suggestion of a personal dispute between his client and the manager.
“He’s fine. He’s fine. Everything’s fine,” Mendes said in a brief interview on Spanish programme El Chiringuito.
When pressed about the forward’s plans for the future, the influential agent chose not to offer any definitive answers. “I don’t know yet,” he responded, leaving the door open for possible developments in the upcoming transfer window.
Fati’s form and fitness have come under scrutiny in recent seasons, with injuries derailing what had once been a meteoric rise following his breakthrough.
Once seen as Lionel Messi’s heir, he now finds himself on the fringes of a Barcelona squad in transition.
