Al Ahly set for Mamelodi Sundowns clash with Wissam Abu Ali boost

Al Ahly have confirmed that striker Wissam Abu Ali is expected to feature in their crucial CAF Champions League second-leg clash against Mamelodi Sundowns on Friday.

After gradually returning to training, the Palestinian forward has been declared fit by the club’s medical team.

Mohamed Thabet, the team’s media spokesperson, relayed updates from head of medical staff Ahmed Gaballah. While Wissam is ready, other players remain sidelined. Fullback Karim Debbis has suffered a torn outer ankle ligament and continues his rehabilitation before joining full training.

Moroccan defender Yahya Atiyatallah is nursing a pulled back muscle and will need two more weeks of recovery.

Karim Fouad, recovering from cruciate ligament surgery, has entered the final phase of his rehab. He will undergo physical testing soon, which could signal a return to action.

Meanwhile, midfielder Reda Selim has begun the first stage of his recovery after knee cartilage surgery.

Al Ahly will train tomorrow at Mokhtar El-Tech Stadium before entering a closed camp to fine-tune preparations for the high-stakes battle against the South African side.
