French-defender of Guinea-Bissau descent, Dayot Upamecano is no where near signing a new deal with Bayern Munich although talks have started.
The latest information gathered indicates that negotiations have stalled due to a 15 million euros per year demand.
Dayo Upamecano enjoyed a standout campaign during the 2024/25 season, elevating his game under the guidance of new head coach Vincent Kompany.
His impressive performances have seen him grow into a central figure in Bayern’s defense, strengthening the club’s desire to secure his long-term future.
However, according to sources, while both sides remain open to an agreement and negotiations are ongoing, the gap over salary expectations remains unresolved. Should Bayern agree to the €15 million annual wage, Upamecano would break into the club’s top ten highest earners.
For now, the standoff leaves Upamecano’s future at Bayern uncertain as talks continue behind the scenes.
The club is expected to renew the contract talks at the end of the current season in hopes of reaching an agreement that favours both parties.
