Ansu Fati has reportedly decided to part ways with FC Barcelona at the end of the current season.
Once seen as the club’s next big star, Fati’s time at the Camp Nou now looks to be coming to a quiet close.
Diario Sport reports that the 22-year-old forward, who still has two years left on his contract, is ready to leave after enduring another difficult season. He has made only nine appearances for Barcelona this campaign and hasn’t scored since 2023. His loan spell at Brighton & Hove Albion to reignite his career did not yield any positive results.
Though he continues to wear the iconic number 10 shirt, it’s clear that the club no longer sees him as part of their future plans. His high wages and lack of impact have become a burden Barcelona is keen to offload.
Clubs in Spain, Turkey, Portugal, and Saudi Arabia are said to be monitoring the situation and could make offers this summer.
Fati signed his first pro deal in 24 July, 2019 and became the second-youngest debutant in club history. On 31 August 2019, he made history as Barcelona’s youngest-ever goalscorer.
