Al Ahly’s management team has finalized a deal to keep goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy in their ranks, with an official announcement slated for after Saturday’s showdown with Pyramids FC in the Egyptian Premier League play-off’s second round.
The decision comes as a boost for the squad, locking in their star shot-stopper ahead of a crucial match. An insider close to the club spilled the details to Kooora, revealing that sporting director Mohamed Ramadan hammered out the agreement, tying El-Shenawy to Al Ahly for two more seasons, plus an option for a third.
“El-Shenawy’s contract expires at the end of the current season, and a final agreement has been reached regarding the renewal. The contracts will be signed after the Pyramids FC match,” the insider said.
