Ansu Fati has reportedly come to terms with the necessity of departing FC Barcelona during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Under the management of Hansi Flick, the Spanish international of Guinean descent has found his opportunities severely limited, leading to growing dissatisfaction with his role within the squad.
Throughout the current season, Fati has made a total of eight appearances across all competitions, accumulating just 186 minutes.
His sole start occurred in a La Liga match against Sevilla, where he was substituted after 76 minutes. Notably, he has not featured in any matches since early January, underscoring his marginalization within the team.
The young forward’s frustration has been compounded by his exclusion from matchday squads, even amidst injuries to key players.
For instance, during the Supercopa semi-final against Athletic Bilbao, despite the absence of several regular starters, Fati was left out of the lineup.
Instead, academy prospect Toni Fernandez was preferred, highlighting Fati’s diminished standing in Flick’s plans.
In the January transfer window, Fati reportedly declined offers from more than four clubs, choosing instead to remain at Barcelona and fight for his place.
However, with his situation unchanged and playing time scarce, he now acknowledges that a move away from the club is essential for his development and career progression.
Barcelona’s management appears open to facilitating his departure, viewing it as an opportunity to alleviate the club’s wage bill and provide Fati with the regular playing time he seeks.
While the decision ultimately rests with the player, the club is not inclined to obstruct a potential transfer.
