Egypt’s women’s national football team will play two friendly matches against Jordan this April as part of their preparations for the second round of the 2026 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) qualifiers.
In an official announcement on its X account, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) confirmed the fixtures, which will serve as a crucial test for the Pharaohs ahead of their upcoming qualification campaign.
Match details
The first friendly is scheduled for Friday, April 4, at the Al Ahly Club Stadium in Nasr City, with kick-off set for 18:00 GMT.
The second encounter will take place on Tuesday, April 8, at the Air Defense Stadium.
Preparation for a pivotal challenge
These matches against Jordan will provide Egypt with valuable game time as they gear up for a decisive clash with Ghana in the next round of AWCON qualifiers.
To secure their place in the continental tournament, the Pharaohs must overcome the Black Queens in a two-legged tie.
Egypt enters this preparation phase with momentum, having recently secured a 1-0 victory over Rwanda.
With the qualifiers set to take place between October 20 and 28, 2025, these friendly matches will serve as an opportunity for the team to refine tactics and build cohesion ahead of the crucial fixtures.
The upcoming double-header against Jordan is expected to be a key test for the Egyptian squad as they aim to sharpen their performance and strengthen their chances of reaching the AWCON finals.
