Terem Moffi marked his long-awaited return to action on Saturday evening, making his first appearance of the season for OGC Nice in their 2-1 defeat to Monaco in Ligue 1.
The Nigerian forward, who had been sidelined for over seven months with a hamstring injury sustained during preseason on August 17, 2024, was introduced as a late substitute in the 82nd minute, replacing Baptiste Santamaria.
His return provided a significant boost for the Eaglets, who have been without one of their key attacking options for the entire campaign.
Moffi’s prolonged absence had been a major setback for both club and country.
The 25-year-old resumed light training in February and gradually worked his way back to full fitness before rejoining the squad earlier this month.
His return is expected to bolster Nice’s attacking threat as they push for a strong finish to the season.
For Nigeria, Moffi’s comeback is also welcome news.
The Super Eagles have been missing his presence in international fixtures, and his availability once again presents an additional attacking option for the national team as they prepare for upcoming competitions.
With Moffi now back in action, all eyes will be on how quickly he can regain his sharpness and return to his goal-scoring form.
His reintegration into the squad could prove pivotal for both club and country in the weeks ahead.
