The head coach of Ghana’s Black Stars, Otto Addo has stressed the need to stay focused after topping Group I at the end of Round 6 in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to the tactician, the Black Stars are not assured of qualification despite impressive wins against Chad and Madagascar.
He insists that his team must keep fighting until the final qualification match is played.
“Like I said, it is not done yet. We still have to work hard. This is football, [and] things can turn very fast, and as a national [team] coach, you always have to wait for some months before you can get the team together to play again.
“I am very happy with the result and the way we played. It’s well-deserved, and we are looking forward,” Coach Otto Addo said.
Following Ghana’s win against Madagascar on Monday night, the Black Stars are now top of the Group I standings in the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars will return to action in the World Cup qualifiers in September 2025 with matches against Chad and Mali.
