Belgium-DR Congo rooted manager Vincent Kompany says his outfit Bayern Munich is staying grounded despite smashing Bayer Leverkusen in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League.

The Bavarian giants cruised to an emphatic 3-0 victory at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.

A brace from Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala’s strike ensured Bayern Munich run riot of Leverkusen in the thrilling clash.

“This is only the first half, we still have to play the second match, I have no ideas at the moment, now we are thinking about the course of the match or what will happen next, we have to be fully focused so that we can perform well again next time.” He told Sky Sports Germany.

“I do not have any special victories, this is a victory for the team and I am part of it, this was our most important match of the season so far, but as I said things are not decided yet and will continue on Tuesday in the second leg.”

“At the moment I just hope there is another important game after that. We have to stay calm. We have always shown the reaction and readiness for what is coming, and it has to stay that way.”

“There are many things. Otherwise we would not have won against such a team. I don’t want to talk too much. What we have done now we have to do again on Tuesday. There is no time for self-praise. Of course, the players can be satisfied after doing their job, but now the focus is on Bochum and then the second leg against Leverkusen.”

He concluded by talking about Manuel Neuer’s injury: “It happened during the celebration. It is a shame for us. We have always talked about the importance of our squad. If we have to rely on Orbig, we will do it and we will not worry”
