Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has indicated that he is keen on taking pressure off Danish-Nigerian striker Chido Obi-Martin and all teenagers in the first team.

The manager in the last few weeks have been drafting some of the club’s academy players in his matchday squads for the senior team.

In the period, Chido Obi and other teenagers have been given the chance to play for the English giants.

Speaking on why Obi is not part of the team’s registered players for the Europa League, Ruben Amorim has revealed that he is being careful not to overwhelm the teenagers due to high expectations.

“He [Jack Fletcher] didn’t train with us [earlier]. And he had a game before Fulham [the FA Youth Cup victory over Arsenal]. Amass is here today. In the last game against Fulham, we wanted Amass also but, because he played a full game against Arsenal, he was not in our squad.

“We try to manage all the teams and try to imagine the substitutions and we know to bring some players [in] is a big step. We are taking care of the expectations of the kids,” the Manchester United manager said.

Amorim who is confident in Chido Obi and the other teenagers believe they will become important players if they continue to work hard.
