Al-Saoura remains firm after securing a 2-1 victory over Aqaba in the 18th round of the first professional league, brushing aside the opposition’s demands for match points over alleged player ineligibility.
Aqaba’s administration lodged an official complaint, arguing that Al-Saoura fielded ineligible players. However, Al-Saoura’s youth head, Belkhdar, countered the claims, stating that all necessary documentation had been submitted to the professional league and the disciplinary committee.
“We have submitted all the necessary documents to the professional league and the discipline committee, after the precautions submitted by the Administration of Aqaba Club, against five players from our team, after the match that brought us together in the national championship,” Belkhdar told the media.
He further clarified the status of Juba Awsasi, stressing that the player had no involvement in the match.
“As for our player Juba Awsasi, I confirm that the player was not at all concerned with this confrontation, as we withdrew his name from the meeting paper.”
Belkhdar concluded by referencing official reports, emphasizing that the disciplinary committee’s findings would validate Al-Saoura’s stance on the matter.
