Fenerbahçe have activated the purchase option for Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat following his impressive performances during his loan spell from Fiorentina.
After a challenging stint at Manchester United, Amrabat has found form in Istanbul, becoming an integral part of Fenerbahçe’s midfield.
The decision to secure his services on a permanent basis comes after the club agreed to pay a transfer fee in the region of €12-13 million.
Amrabat’s resurgence has coincided with the arrival of José Mourinho, who has been instrumental in the club’s decision to retain the player.
The 27-year-old’s physical strength, tactical awareness, and defensive contributions have won over both supporters and coaching staff.
Mourinho, convinced by Amrabat’s consistency and suitability for his tactical system, advocated for his permanent signing.
As a result, the midfielder is set to sign a contract that will tie him to the Turkish club until 2028.
The move brings stability to Amrabat’s career, allowing him to focus fully on his development without the uncertainty of temporary transfers.
