English Premier League side Arsenal have reportedly made an official contact with the representatives of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen over a possible summer transfer.
After years under manager Mikel Arteta, the Gunners are still struggling to find the winning formula for the English Premier League title.
With the club likely to miss out on clinching the title in the ongoing 2024/25 football season, officials have already started moves to bring in players to strengthen the squad.
As part of the moves, Arsenal is understood to have contacted the representatives of Victor Osimhen and inquired about his possible signing in the summer transfer window.
It is believed that the Gunners want to lead the race for the in-demand striker’s signature and have decided to open negotiations soon.
Despite the strong interest, Arsenal will face competition from Premier League rival Manchester United.
Although Osimhen is ready to end his time at SSC Napoli, he will not come cheap.
He has a release clause of 75 million euros, but could cost up to 100 million euros should Napoli decide to play ball.
Other players Arsenal will consider signing in the summer window include Alexander Isak and Ollie Watkins.
