Forward Chidozie Obi-Martin has expressed eagerness to contribute to Manchester United’s success in the FA Youth Cup.
In his first public interview since joining the club from Arsenal earlier this season, Obi shared his passion for scoring goals and aiding the team’s victories.
Reflecting on his recent hat-trick in a commanding 5-1 win over Chelsea, the Danish-Nigerian stated, “I love to score goals, and I love to help the team to win in this big competition, so yeah, it’s really good.”
This performance has set the stage for an upcoming quarterfinal match against his former club, Arsenal.
Obi’s journey to Manchester United began when he moved from Denmark to the UK, joining Arsenal’s youth setup at 13.
Internationally, Obi-Martin is eligible to represent Denmark, England, and Nigeria, having most recently played for the Denmark U18s.
Earlier this month, at 17 years and 79 days old, Obi became Manchester United’s third-youngest Premier League debutant, appearing in a match against Tottenham.
Manager Ruben Amorim commented on his debut, highlighting Obi’s intelligence and potential impact in critical moments.
As Manchester United prepare to face Arsenal in the FA Youth Cup quarterfinals, anticipation builds around Obi’s performance against his former club.
