Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has urged his former club to secure the services of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
Currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, the 26-year-old forward has been in prolific form this season. In the Süper Lig, Osimhen has netted 14 goals in 19 appearances, complemented by four assists. His contributions extend to the UEFA Europa League, where he has scored six times in seven matches. Overall, he boasts 20 goals across all competitions this season.
Ferdinand emphasized Osimhen’s goal-scoring prowess and experience at the highest level, stating, “If we could do it from a financial standpoint, get him on loan, I’d go and get Osimhen now.” The striker’s current market value is estimated at €75 million.
Reports suggest that Galatasaray is keen to make Osimhen’s loan move permanent, while English sources indicate the player has a preference for a move to the Premier League. Manchester United is reportedly receiving regular updates on Osimhen’s availability as they consider bolstering their attacking options.
