Reports circulating about Imam Ashour requesting an amendment to his contract with Al-Ahly have been denied by sources close to the club.
The talented midfielder, who joined Al-Ahly from Denmark’s Metiland in July 2023 on a five-year deal, is currently among the highest-paid Egyptian players, earning 15 million pounds annually.
An exclusive source revealed to Kooora that there has been no request from Ashour to increase his wages. Instead, Cairo outfit Al-Ahly plans to review and possibly raise the contract values of several players, with adjustments set for the end of the current season.
“The club is focusing on restructuring contracts based on performance and technical evaluations,” said the source. “There’s also a new proposal linking contract terms to victories and match participation, which will be discussed with the planning department.”
This shift comes as the club looks to optimize its contracts in line with player contributions, ensuring alignment with their on-field success.
