Everton midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye has reached a major milestone in his career, making his 200th appearance for the club.
The Senegalese international, who has been a key figure in the Toffees’ midfield over two separate spells, continues to play a crucial role at 35 years old.
A journey spanning nearly a decade
Gueye’s story with Everton began in 2016, when he joined from Aston Villa.
His performances quickly made him a fan favourite, known for his relentless work rate, defensive awareness, and ability to break up opposition play.
His form earned him a move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2019, where he spent three seasons, winning multiple domestic trophies and featuring in the UEFA Champions League final in 2020.
However, his bond with Everton remained strong, and in 2022, he returned to Goodison Park to help stabilise the club during a turbulent period.

Still going strong at 35
Gueye reached the 200-match landmark during Everton’s Premier League fixture against Brentford on February 26.
Despite being in the latter stages of his career, the midfielder continues to operate at a high level, playing a vital role in David Moyes’ side.
This season, he has been pivotal in the heart of Everton’s midfield, providing stability and leadership as the club navigates a challenging campaign.
His experience and tactical intelligence remain invaluable assets, allowing him to dictate play and shield the defence effectively.
A legacy at Everton
Gueye’s impact at Everton extends beyond numbers. His leadership, professionalism, and commitment have made him a respected figure both within the squad and among the supporters.
He has also been a key player for Senegal, playing an instrumental role in their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations triumph and continuing to represent his country at the highest level.
