Egyptian outfit Ceramica Cleopatra FC have swiftly appointed former Al Masry gaffer Ali Maher as their head coach.
Maher, who parted ways with Al Masry after a string of poor results in the top-flight replaces Ayman El Ramadi at Cleopatra and is expected to transform the club.
In an attempt to rejuvenate their campaign, Ceramica Cleopatra FC, who currently sit seventh opted to sever ties with El Ramadi following a series of disappointing results.
“The board of directors has decided to appoint Captain Ali Maher as the new head coach of the first team in an important step to enhance performance and achieve the club’s upcoming objectives.” The club wrote, confirming his appointment.
Meanwhile, the club has expressed gratitude to El Ramady for his back to back success in the Egyptian League Cup, “With the best interests of the team as a top priority, both parties have decided to terminate the contract amicably in complete openness and respect for one another.”
Despite guiding Al Masry to the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals, Maher’s tenure ended due to the team’s decline to fifth place in the league.
Al Masry will have to appoint a new coach before their all-important clash against Simba SC in the CAF Confederation Cup in April.
Maher’s coaching career spans several teams, including Al Masry, Modern, and ENPPI. He has also managed teams in various competitions, such as the Egyptian Premier League and the CAF Confederation Cup.
