Arsène Wenger has placed Mohamed Salah ahead of Real Madrid stars Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius Jr, naming the Egyptian forward as his current favourite player to watch.
In an interview with Goal, the former Arsenal manager, now FIFA’s director of global football development, revealed his admiration for four standout players: Salah, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, and Real Madrid duo Vinicius Jr and Mbappé.
However, when asked to pick just one, he had no hesitation in choosing the Liverpool star.
Wenger’s praise for Salah
My favourite player (to watch) at the moment, I think it’s a guy like Salah because despite the longevity of his career, he’s still at the top, Wenger said.
At 32, Salah continues to dominate in the Premier League, delivering one of his most impressive seasons yet.

His consistency and influence have set him apart from his peers, making him a standout performer in European football.
The most decisive player in Europe
Salah’s statistics this season underline his brilliance.
In 24 Premier League matches, he has been directly involved in 36 goals—scoring 22 and assisting 14—making him the most decisive player across Europe’s top five leagues.
By comparison, Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane and Manchester City’s Omar Marmoush trail him in goal contributions, while Mbappé and Vinicius have managed 18 and 15 goal involvements, respectively, in La Liga.
Wenger’s recognition further solidifies Salah’s status as one of the world’s elite players, highlighting his exceptional longevity and impact at the highest level.
