Italian Serie A powerhouse Juventus are reportedly preparing an audacious move to secure the services of Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman from Atalanta.
According to Dire Giovani, the Turin-based club plans to offer Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz plus €13 million in exchange for the Super Eagles attacker.
This proposal comes amid growing speculation linking Lookman with a summer transfer to Juventus.
Since joining Atalanta in 2022, Lookman has been a standout performer, scoring 46 goals and providing 25 assists in 106 appearances across all competitions.
His remarkable hat-trick in last season’s Europa League final catapulted him into the spotlight, attracting interest from top European clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain.
Despite the attention, Atalanta held firm and retained the 27-year-old forward during the summer and winter transfer windows.
This season, Lookman has continued to shine, keeping the transfer rumours alive. Juventus, seeking to bolster their attacking options, have now emerged as serious suitors.
However, Atalanta may hesitate to accept the proposed deal. The club reportedly values Lookman at €55 million and would prefer a cash-only transaction.
Additionally, Douglas Luiz, who joined Juventus last summer for €51 million, has yet to fully justify his price tag, raising doubts about his inclusion in the deal.
Lookman’s contract with Atalanta runs until 2026, with an option for a one-year extension. However, the Nigerian star is unlikely to renew, leaving Atalanta in a difficult position.
If Lookman refuses to extend his deal, the club may be forced to sell him this summer to avoid losing him for free in the future.
