Rennes maintain momentum as Habib Beye stresses focus

Rennes secured their second consecutive victory with a composed 2-0 triumph over Saint-Étienne, demonstrating their growing strength on the pitch.

However, head coach Habib Beye remains cautious, emphasizing the importance of staying grounded and focused on the challenges ahead.

Despite the impressive display at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, Beye opted for a measured response following the win, highlighting the need for continued concentration.

“The boys put in a huge effort. I think it was a great performance. I told the players that they are lucky to play in the Chaudron in front of 40,000 people and that we are lucky to play this game in these conditions.

My boys put in a high-quality performance. It’s good that we’re continuing here and above all it allows us to work in perfect conditions for next week, keeping in mind that we haven’t done anything,” Beye told DAZN.

The victory further solidifies Rennes’ recent resurgence, yet the manager remains focused on maintaining momentum rather than celebrating prematurely.

With 13 matches still to play, Beye is keen to ensure his squad remains committed to their objectives.

“We still have 13 games to play, and the ambition must be to win them all,” he reiterated, underlining the necessity of maintaining a winning mentality and a collective drive within the squad.

For Beye, cohesion and discipline are essential in sustaining Rennes’ upward trajectory.

While the recent victories have been encouraging, he insists that the team must keep their feet on the ground, acknowledging that the season is far from over.

With Rennes gaining form at a crucial stage of the campaign, the challenge now lies in building on these performances and striving for consistency.

Beye’s balanced approach suggests that while optimism is growing, the primary focus remains on continuous improvement and achieving long-term success.
