Arsenal ready trigger Nico Williams’ release clause in summer

Premier League giants Arsenal are considering triggering Nico Williams’ release clause in the summer transfer window.

Williams, who has Ghanaian root has attracted a lot of interest from European clubs following his impressive performance for Athletic Bilbao and the Spanish national team.

The 22-year-old has €60 million release clause in his current contract with Athletic Bilbao, heading into the summer transfer window.

According to El Nacional, Arsenal have expressed keen interest in Williams and are poised to offer better wages to lure his services at the expense of Barcelona, who are not financially sound.

The enterprising winger, who has a contract until 2027 is said to be open to a Premier League move.

Meanwhile, Liverpool and Chelsea have expressed a strong interest in the services of the Spanish-Ghanaian winger.

In the ongoing season, Nico Williams has racked up four goals and provided five assists from 30 appearances across competitions.
