Ademola Lookman is on course to make his comeback for Atalanta before the end of February after recovering from a knee injury that sidelined him last month.
The Nigerian forward sustained the setback ahead of Atalanta’s Champions League clash against Barcelona and has since missed three consecutive matches.
According to Transfermarkt, Lookman could return in time for Atalanta’s Serie A fixture against Empoli on February 23. However, his absence will extend through both legs of the club’s Champions League knockout tie against Club Brugge, with the first leg scheduled for February 12 at the Jan Breydel Stadium and the return fixture a week later at the Gewiss Stadium.
Lookman has been instrumental for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side this season, contributing 14 goals and seven assists in 27 appearances across all competitions. His impending return is expected to provide a significant boost as Atalanta pushes for success in both domestic and European competitions.
